Emails 3/21/16

I'm doing well and am enjoying the warmer weather, too, although I won't be for too much longer because it's just going to get way too hot! :) I think it was 700 degrees here the other day. Warm and humid.

I did realize that I passed my year mark on island a couple days ago! :o 

I should bring my journal to email and type from my journal to you guys because  I write about my week every Sunday. :) Maybe next time. :) 

Last Monday we went with some people (they're former investigators who love missionaries so they take us out on Pday) to the beach a ways away from where we are. We went to a big sand dune by the beach that they called a desert. :) Then they took us out to a chi dao bao. Woohoo! :D 

On Tuesday we did the regular stuff and went to a place a little ways out of where we usually are to scout tracting places because pretty much all the houses here have been tracted already. 

Wednesday was pretty intense. Our afternoon was wide open, so we just contacted and made calls the whole afternoon. We were able to set up a person that had self-contacted us a couple weeks ago for the following day. :) English class on Wednesday night, which was pretty cool because we had a bunch of new people come in and hopefully they'll come back, and we will set up some times to meet with them to share about the Gospel! 

On Thursday went on our weekly trip to Manzhou and had a bunch of lessons, which was pretty good. :) We've had some more lessons this last week, which is really good, because the past couple weeks our lessons were lower. We have been able to find some promising new people though and we hope we can now start working with them to learn more about the Gospel. 

Friday was fun; we had weekly planning, and funny story, my companion Elder Hanna fell asleep in the middle of the prayer. And he was saying the prayer! He said something like, "We are grateful for allowing us...." and that's where he trailed off. I realized he fell asleep and started laughing and after about 10 seconds, he asked "Did I just fall asleep?" haha! :) We did weekly planning and then sang to the ama's again. :) I think our Fridays are cursed, because it's been a few weeks and we haven't had any lessons on Friday... :) 

Saturday was another pretty busy day. we were able to meet with an investigator and a couple less active members. We were able to confirm the less active members for church which was super awesome, because they haven't been to church in a while! :D ...In the end, they didn't show up, but other less actives came to church instead, which was good! :) 

Sunday was pretty awesome, because we were able to get 3 investigators and 2 less active members to church, which is more than we've had in a while! It was also the Hengchun branch conference, so instead of having 20-some people, we had about 60! :D It was super awesome to see what it's going to be like in Hengchun in a few years! :) 

Anyway, I think that's about it for the week. :) I love you guys! :D

Emails 3/14/16

That's super cool that Jill's home! :D I remember going to her farewell, and it didn't seem that long ago! :o That's super cool that Jill gave a good homecoming talk! :D I hope I can give a good homecoming talk, too! :) I feel like missions are good for that kind of stuff; I don't think I'll be nearly as nervous getting up and giving a talk in sacrament meeting after having done it in a foreign country speaking a different language. :) Yeah, I've got a lot to do before I come back, that's for sure. :) I'd love to go to Taiwan with all of you as a family. :D The work's going alright. We were able to find a couple new investigators this week, so hopefully that will help, and we have a guy getting ready for baptism. We're really hoping he will get baptized. He is a little concerned he hasn't received a solid answer yet, so we're trying to help him with that and trying to help him to recognize the Holy Ghost. 

We spend some time with the members of the branch, but not tons of time. I wish we could spend more time with them and serve them more. 

Haha I'm staying away from girls, although the contacting I'm doing on my mission is good practice for when I go home. ;) Yeah, this mission's got some amazing missionaries. :) 

Haha I was able to see the video. :) It got my blood pumping to watch soccer again! :D I'm glad that RSL finally won one! :D  Also I got your package you sent last week! :D Thanks for all the fireballs! :) There were so many of them! :D And thanks for the RSL stuff! :D I'm wearing the socks right now. :) They're my new Pday socks. :D 

I don't miss daylight savings, and I'm sorry you had to do that. :/ I haven't had allergy problems so far, and hopefully it will stay that way. :) That would be nice if my allergies went away on my mission! :D That'd be a nice blessing of a mission! :) 

Yay March Madness! :D I hope I win! Dad said you'd send me another package if  I won, so pick some good teams to win for me. ;)

Emails 03/7/16

Zone conference was pretty fun. :) I was able to see a couple old companions and missionary friends! :D  It was nice to see friends, I love that. :)  ...and other missionaries in general. :) We don't see other missionaries here because we're so far away from everything else. 

This transfer got extended a week because of some program at the MTC, so the next mini movecall is next week (we probably won't move), and the next movecall is at the end of March or the very beginning of April. :) 

Elder Hanna will probably leave, unless I do, but that would be strange. Although, stranger things have happened. :) We will be getting 20 new missionaries next movecall. :o It will be a lot; probably about the same size as my generation. It's probably the Christmas or after Christmas group. :) 

I like what Pres. Hales says about avoiding temptation. He says, "One of the purposes of the scriptures is to show us how righteous people respond to temptation and evil. In short, they avoid it!" That's really good. :) 

I learned last week that going to the dentist here only costs 50NT (about $1.50US) for X-rays and a cleaning. :D  

That's super cool Jill's home; that went so fast! I'm bummed I'll miss her homecoming! :(  I feel like I'm going to miss a lot of people's homecomings. :/ 

Woohoo soccer season!! :D I'm glad soccer season's started and I'll be there for the next one! :D 

Our investigator will have to delay his baptism at least a week. 

The camera won't connect to the computer. I'll have to sent pictures next week if I can't figure it out. :/

It's getting warmer here, that makes me nervous....It's probably 70s or 80s and getting humid. 

You're the best! I love you all so much! I'll chat with you next week.
